Lies in the northeast of Guangxi Province, Guilin is in the subtropical and monsoon zone with four distinctive seasons. As the proverb saying, “Scarcely snowing in winter, perennially flowers blossoming”, Guilin enjoys a very pleasant climate.

May, September and October are the best time to visit Guilin. While, winter is the low season, so it would be much cheaper to travel during that time.

Guilin Attractions

  • Yangshuo

Yangshuo Yangshuo is situated 65 kilometers to the southeast of Guilin and is famous for its its spectacular views of hills and rivers. As the old saying goes, “Guilin’s scenery is the most beautiful in the world, Yangshuo’s scenery is far more superior to that of Guilin’s”.
  • Li River

Li-River As a well-known part of the Guilin River, it flows from the Piled Festoon Hill to “Bilian Peak” in Yangshou, covering a distance of 83 kilometres. It is famous for its beauty of four unique: verdant mountains, fragrant waters, mysterious grottoes, and exquisite rocks.
  • Longji Terraced Field

longji This beautiful fairyland is located in Longsheng County about 2 hours from Guilin. It is known as the marvel of the agricultural art in China. The terraces look like great chains or ribbons as they wind from the foot to the top of the hill.
  • Elephant Trunk Hill

Elephant-Trunk-Hill Elephant Trunk Hill stands majestically in the downtown area of Guilin city, at the junction of the Li River and the Peach Blossom River. It is regarded as the symbol of Guilin landscape. It is so named because it outlines a vivid image of an elephant sipping water from the river with its trunk.
  • Seven Star Park

Seven-Star-Park Seven Star Park, which derives its name from a cave called Seven-Star Cave, is on the eastern side of the Li River.  It covers  an area of 120 hectares including peaks, rivers, caves, gardens and relics.  It also has a zoo which has two giant pandas residing in it.
A well-known part of the Guilin River, it flows from the Piled Festoon Hill to “Bilian Peak” in Yangshou, covering a distance of 83 kilometres.
