Terracotta-Army

Terracotta Army

Covering a total area of 20 hectares, the Terracotta Army lies 1.5 km east to the Tomb of Qin First Emperor. As the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century, it was listed by UNESCO in 1987 as one of the world cultural heritages.

Ancient City Wall

The City Wall was built in the early Ming Dynasty (13th century) on the basis of Chang An, the Imperial City of the Tang Dynasty.

The Bell Tower and Drum Tower of Xi’an were established in  the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). They are located in the center of the Xian city connecting the four roads from east, south, west and north. Both of them were used to tell time.

Qianling-Tomb Qianling Tomb

Qianling Tomb was built in 684 AD. It is the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong (628 A.D.-683 A.D.), and his empress Wu Zetian (624 A.D.-705 A.D.), the only female Emperor in Chinese history.

Xi’an Xianyang International Airport is about 50 kilometers away from the downtown. You may fly directly to or from most major domestic cities and there are also a few international flights to Thailand, South Korea, Japan, etc.

  • Train

Xi’an railway station is the major terminus on the west-east line of China. There are daily trains to and from almost all the major cities in China.
The train station is located in the northeast of the city, close to the Shangde Gate. It takes about 15 minutes and RMB10 to get the station by taxi from the city center. Alternatively, you may also take bus to get there, such as buses No. 5, 9, 13, 14, 25, 42, etc.
As Xi’an is one of the most visited tourist destinations in China, you’d better to buy your tickets several days before your departure.

  • Coach

Most routes from major cities are serviced by long distance coaches. You may obtain tickets from the bus station.
The highway transportation to Xian extends in all direction. Coaches commute between Xi’an and many large cities. Following are the long distance bus stations in Xi’an
