The Potala Palace is a huge treasure house for the record of Tibetan history, religion, culture and arts. The precious sculptures, murals, scripture, Buddha figures, murals, antiques, and religious jewelry treasured up  are of great cultural and artistic value.

barkhor_street Barkhor Street

Barkhor Street is a quadrangle-shaped bustling bazaar surround Jokhang Temple. It has a long history which can date back to the year 647. It is also a business centre with merchants from many different countries.

museum Tibet Museum

Located in the southeast corner of Norbulingka, Lhasa, the Tibet Museum is a large store house of Tibetan cultural relics, such as andwritten Tibetan classics, colorful thangka paintings, musical instruments, etc. It is a great place to catch a glimpse of the long Tibetan history.

Jokhang_Temple Jokhang Temple

Jokhang Temple is regarded as the most sacred monastery and spiritual center of Tibet. It was built about 1350 years ago when the first king of Tibet, Songsten Gampo, to welcome his bride, Princess Wencheng who came from Changan, the capital of the Tang Dynasty.

Gandan_Monastery Gandan Monastery

As the oldest of the three principle Gelukpa monasteries in Lhasa, Gandan Monastery was located in Zixan County about 40 kilometers from Lhasa. It was founded in 1409 during the Ming Dynasty and in its heyday, the temple housed almost 4,000 monks.

Drepung_Monastery Drepung Monastery

Drepung Monastery is one of the great three Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet, along with Gandan and Sera Monasteries. Located at the foot of Mount Gephel in the west of Lhasa, it was built in 1416 by Jamyang Chojey, a direct disciple of Je Tsongkhapa who is the founder of the Gelukpa School.

Sera_Monastery Sera Monastery

Sera Monastery is one of the three most famous monasteries in Lhasa. It consists of a Buddhist temple, sutra recitation hall and monastery, monastic house, Kang village, and the famous Living Buddhas’ palace.
