The modern Chinese architecture has been much influenced by the western architecture. After the First Opium War, the construction of European-style architecture flourished in China. Sino-western styled buildings were commonly seen in the concessions and commercial ports. Meanwhile, church, as the one of the first styles coming into China, was brought to the remote villages.

As time goes by, these mixed architectures have been the classic culture heritage of great visual beauty.

Yes, but most of the buildings were destroyed during the wars. It a pity.
