As the capital of China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, has a history of more than 1,300 years. Covering an area of close to 30,000 square km, it is the home of to the Tibetan, Han, and Hui peoples, as well as many other ethnic groups, but the Tibetan ethnic group makes up 87 percent of the total population.

Situated in a high-altitude valley at 3,700 meters (11,100 feet), Lhasa is the highest city in the world. Surrounded by high mountains and with the scenic Kyichu River flowing through the city, Lhasa is regarded as ‘The Last Pure Land of the World and the Extant Paradise’.

It is a place you may easily find spinning prayer wheels, colorful flags, lamas, traditionally clad Tibetans. It is also the closest place on Earth to Heaven.
